Job Summary

MISO Energy seeks a skilled Electrical Transmission Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing technical expertise in defining project scopes, estimating costs, and conducting comparative analyses of proposals for the design, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of high-voltage transmission lines and substations (69 kV+).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise on high-voltage transmission line and substation design during MISO's planning process, Competitive Transmission Process, and project implementation.
  • Develop into a subject matter expert in high-voltage transmission line and substation design, construction, and operations & maintenance.
  • Guide and manage consultants on project schedules and construction reviews related to proposals for the construction, ownership, and operation of transmission lines and substations.
  • Effectively articulate and communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
  • Lead projects, manage risks and organizational impacts, and engage with stakeholders across various forums.

Qualifications

Education
  • Required - Technical/other training or better in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Required - Bachelors or better in Engineering

Experience
  • Required - A Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly preferred, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Required - 4 years: Experience in the energy industry
