Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer

At Munich Re, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our Equipment Technology Lab team in Hartford, CT. As a key member of our team, you will provide subject matter expertise in small commercial to industrial-size mechanical systems and controls. Your primary goal will be to increase our equipment knowledge, identify emerging equipment trends for Industry 4.0 technologies, and drive this learning back through our underwriting, claims, and new products business units. This will ultimately lead to improving our overall business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise in mechanical systems and controls
- Increase equipment knowledge and identify emerging trends
- Drive learning back through business units
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
- Master's degree in Engineering or MBA a plus
- Registration as a Professional Engineer a plus
- 15+ years experience in design, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, or operations required
- Experience or strong knowledge in a specific area to qualify as an expert
- Experience writing technical papers, specifications, and evaluation mechanical equipment a plus
- Knowledge of insurance industry a plus
