Job Summary

The Tulsa City-County Library is seeking a highly skilled Customer Care Specialist to provide exceptional customer service in our AskUs Customer Care Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting customers with a wide range of inquiries, providing information, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting with circulation, ready reference, readers' advisory, and general library service and information questions.
  • Communication: Respond to customer contacts submitted via various channels, including phone, email, text, instant message, and the comments section on the website.
  • Support: Assist the Customer Care Manager with social media needs and update phone messages and web banners as needed.
  • Preparation: Prepare the AskUs Customer Care Center for opening and closing, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for customers.
  • Skills: Possess excellent phone voice, strong oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using Windows, Internet, Word Processing, and Spreadsheets is required.
  • Technology: Ability to learn relevant technology, including the library's circulation software, call center software, and popular e-readers and tablets.
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
Work Environment

The Customer Care Specialist will work in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions. Occasional light lifting may be required, but no major sources of discomfort are expected.
