At Apple Inc., we're seeking a highly skilled CPU Physical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Silicon Engineering Group (SEG), you'll play a critical role in driving the design and development of our cutting-edge CPU products.
Key Responsibilities- Drive RTL-to-GDS Design Convergence: Utilize logic synthesis and place-and-route tools to achieve ambitious PPA goals.
- Block-Level Physical Design Delivery: Responsible for delivering high-quality block-level physical design, including backend flows, electrical requirements, and silicon yield improvement.
- Collaboration with CAD and PD Methodology Teams: Work closely with internal teams to optimize industry-standard synthesis/PNR tool features and adoption in CPU design.
- Collaboration with X-Functional Top-Level Teams: Contribute to CPU floorplan, timing, power, reliability, and testability aspects.
- Collaboration with Custom IP Teams: Define and co-optimize memory macros, library standard cells to improve design PPA.
- Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals in logic design, digital circuits, and deep sub-micron technology.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard logic Synthesis, PnR, STA, and Power analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of low power, high frequency physical design techniques.
- Programming and scripting ability (Perl, TCL) with strong fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently and/or lead a physical design partition in collaboration with x-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competitive base pay range: $175,800 - $312,200.
