The Manager of Field Services plays a crucial role in overseeing operations and ensuring exceptional customer service across designated facilities within a specific region. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this position leads a team of Healthcare Representatives, striving to deliver outstanding service to our clients. Collaboration with field leadership and other departments within Optum is essential to this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management
    • Directs a team of Healthcare Representatives to deliver client-centered services, leveraging knowledge of relevant program regulations to maintain and update applicant information efficiently.
    • Ensures timely submission and resolution of claims, with appropriate documentation of claim status in the system.
    • Reviews inventory reports, ensuring accuracy in actions taken and providing constructive feedback to team members.
  • Reporting and Metrics
    • Analyzes reporting data for the assigned territory and offers strategic recommendations.
    • Ensures adequate coverage within the designated area.
    • Maintains ongoing communication with government agencies regarding claim statuses.
    • Manages customer relationships in compliance with Optum policies and applicable regulations.
  • Team Leadership
    • Encourages teamwork by promoting collaboration among team members and leading by example.
    • Facilitates change management by supporting necessary innovations and organizational improvements.
    • Sets clear performance goals for the team, monitors progress, and addresses any performance issues promptly.
    • Communicates effectively to ensure all relevant information is shared with the team.
    • Invests in team development by delegating responsibilities and coaching team members to enhance their skills.
    • Collaborates with Talent Acquisition to recruit top talent when staffing needs arise.
    • Builds and nurtures partnerships within and outside the organization to enhance support and resources.


Work Environment: This position requires onsite presence with potential travel to various facilities as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medicaid, disability, Social Security, or healthcare.
  • Experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfortable using tablets.
  • Access to reliable transportation.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Patient Advocate or Healthcare Representative.
  • Experience in managing teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SSA/SSI disability and other federal/state assistance programs.
  • Basic knowledge of budgeting and mathematical principles.
  • Strong communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Proven decision-making skills in various situations.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
