Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician (Certified) to join our team at University Hospital in Newark, NJ. As a member of our critical care team, you will provide high-quality patient-focused care and services under the direction of a Professional Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and quality patient care services in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the care team to achieve patient goals and improve patient outcomes.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the RN.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
Qualifications
  • Certification as a Patient Care Technician by National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to lift/move patients with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize the activities of multiple patients.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • CPR/BLS Certified.
