Job Overview

Peraton is in search of a skilled Mobile Software Engineer to contribute to a Department of Defense initiative.

Work Arrangement: Remote. This is a full-time remote opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the lead engineer.
  • Support front-end developers to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Develop and maintain mobile applications, primarily using Android (Kotlin).
  • Design user interfaces by creating software layouts, navigation, and information organization.
  • Propose and implement new technologies to enhance program functionality.
  • Conduct code reviews and offer constructive feedback.
  • Assist in testing and debugging processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with up to 2 years of experience. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Demonstrated best practices in front-end UI and UX development.
  • Proficiency with version control systems such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN.
  • Strong understanding of OOP principles, Design Patterns, Algorithms, Multi-threading, and data structures for backend integration.
  • Experience in developing Android applications.
  • Familiarity with JSON/XML and RESTful web services.
  • Knowledge of various third-party SDKs and integrations.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience in mobile application development for government entities.
  • Knowledge of cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter or React Native.
  • Understanding of core iOS APIs, frameworks, features, UI styles, and paradigms.
  • Familiarity with Apple's design principles and interface standards.
  • Prior experience in developing applications using Swift or for iOS.

$86,000 - $138,000. This range reflects the typical salary for this role based on experience and other relevant factors.
