We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner II to join our team at the University of California-Davis. Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care in a team-based care environment to a diverse patient population.
- Apply knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations.
- Participate in patient and staff education, demonstrating leadership skills and accountability for own practices as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- One year or greater experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- One year or greater recent clinical experience in Orthopaedics.
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License.
- California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction.
- CSFA Certification.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire.
- National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area.
- Graduation with a master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR.
- Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients.
- Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role.
- Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider.
- One year or greater recent clinical experience in specialty care of the hiring department highly desirable.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- This is a critical position, as defined by UC policy and local procedures, and as such, employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check(s), including but not limited to criminal record history background check(s).
- This position is designated as a mandated reporter under CANRA and UC policy, and employment is contingent on compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and training requirements.
