GI Nurse Practitioner II

As a GI Nurse Practitioner II, you will provide advanced level clinical expertise to patients and their families, managing chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols. This role involves non-invasive or invasive procedures, surgical procedures, and patient management decisions.
Key Responsibilities- 80% Outpatient care, including some or all responsibilities listed
- 10% Professional Development
- 5% Quality and Evidence-Based Practice
- 5% Research and Education
This position will provide 8 half days of outpatient clinic follow-up support for IBD, hepatology, motility, general GI, and advanced endoscopy in our Division of Gastroenterology. This will allow our GI physicians to increase access to new patients and procedures.
Requirements- One (1) year or greater experience as a nurse practitioner
- One (1) year of greater recent clinical experience in GI
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License
- California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
- National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area
- Graduation with a master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
- One (1) year or greater recent clinical experience in specialty care of the hiring department highly desirable
