Epic Legacy Data Conversion Specialist

As a Legacy Data Conversion Analyst, you will be responsible for the setup and configuration of Epic conversion interfaces within the Bridges application. You will work closely with the interface team, application teams, data extraction and formatting developers, and other technical teams to ensure that conversions meet the expectations of end users. This role requires strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and clearly communicate solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the entire cycle of one or more data types for legacy data conversion, including analysis, data element mapping, testing and validation, error resolution, and production loads.
• Work closely with application teams, subject matter experts, and third-party application experts to determine business needs, document requirements, and configure conversion interfaces per the requirements.
• Partner with these groups to diagnose and resolve conversion-related issues and validate usability with end users.
• Identify and escalate risks associated with technical project tasks and legacy data source systems.
• Coordinate application build requirements for conversion.
• Communicate with applications, third-party vendors, legacy system technical resources, and operations stakeholders.
• Define and complete setup for the transport method by which extracted source system data will be communicated to Epic, including troubleshooting data transport mechanisms.
• Understand Epic data structures and document technical specifications detailing target data elements.
• Interpret scope and business requirements for each dataset.
• Analyze and manipulate large volumes of external data into an appropriate format for filing into Epic.
Requirements:
• 2-5 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
• Comfortable working in an IT environment.
• Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
Training and Certification:
Application coordinators gain in-depth knowledge of the software by attending training at Epic and completing application certification projects and tests.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. Some lifting, bending, stretching, and kneeling may be required. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Environmental Conditions:
Normal health facility office environment but not limited to office only. Often required to perform duties within confined spaces.
