As a Speech Language Pathologist, your role will involve delivering individualized and/or small group instructional services as outlined in each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to, direct instruction, prescriptive evaluation, collaboration with educational staff, parents or guardians, and representatives from the home school district, crafting IEP goals and interventions, tracking student progress towards objectives, and participating in IEP meetings.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Instructing students in coping strategies and providing treatment to address specific communication disorders.
  • Assessing and diagnosing communication delays using appropriate testing tools in areas such as oral communication, including auditory perception, speech, and expressive language; as well as total communication, which includes alternative modes and written communication.
  • Organizing schedules to meet with DIS-S/L students on a weekly basis.
  • Preparing monthly and annual reports on student progress.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to align classroom lessons and focus on specific social language development, cooperative group skills, self-concept, and daily living skills.
  • Working on-site during standard school operational hours.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a related field.
  • Active state SLP License.
  • Strong motivational, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and new initiatives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in working with students with diverse needs.
