Job Summary:

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join our team as an Early Intervention Therapist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide home-based speech therapy services to children from birth to age 3 in Allegheny County and/or Butler County.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement Early Intervention services according to the child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
  • Provide speech therapy services to patients of all programs and external contracts
  • Evaluate and determine the need for augmentative/alternative communication devices
  • Collaborate with the medical team to evaluate and determine the need for adaptive feeding equipment and plan
  • Ensure required documentation is completed for all patients within specific timeframe
  • Provide treatment consistent with best practice, evidence-based practice, and adhere to all policies, procedures, and HIPAA
  • Ensure clear communication between the therapist and patient/family or other members of the medical team
  • Attend and participate in mandatory staff meetings
  • Demonstrate independence in professional growth through continuing education or other sources
  • Participate in the clinical education of students as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathology program with 3-5 years of experience with the pediatric population
  • Maintains current Speech Language Pathology License in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Experience in designing developmental treatment plans and feeding plans
  • Capacity to develop proficiency in the performance of various treatment protocols
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively communicate and work with all staff
  • Must have working knowledge of computers to complete documentation electronically and in a timely manner

Functional Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform speech therapy services a minimum of eight hours per day
  • Ability to sustain moderate physical activities including but not limited to getting on and off dynamic therapy equipment
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds independently
  • Ability to communicate information in a professional and courteous manner with other staff and families
  • Manual dexterity necessary to operate medical equipment, computer, telephone system, and other equipment
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or access other means of transportation in order to travel locally for business related to The Children's Home
