We are seeking a proficient Production Operator to configure, maintain, and manage machinery operations. Your role will be vital in ensuring the continuous and efficient flow of production.
An exceptional machine operator is dependable and possesses a keen eye for detail and adherence to safety protocols. On-the-job training will provide opportunities for you to enhance your skills, so a willingness to learn and grow is essential. Team collaboration is crucial, as tasks will require close cooperation with colleagues.
Your primary objective will be to ensure that production processes run smoothly to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Set up and operate various types of machinery in the manufacturing facility
- Communicate effectively with fellow operators and supervisors to address production challenges
- Inspect products to ensure they meet specifications
- Report any issues or suggestions to the Production Manager
- Typically work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week
- Maintain a safe and tidy work environment daily
- Adhere to established safety guidelines
- Produce high-quality products by following work instructions, standard operating procedures, and guidance from department heads
- Comply with all Nexans' Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices
- Follow and uphold Nexans' Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards
- Manufacture products according to specifications
- Meet key performance indicators for timely delivery, variances, and first-pass yield
- Deliver products to customers within the expected timeframe
- Maintain a workplace free from accidents
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capability to stand for extended periods
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including potential overtime
- Ability to use small hand tools and demonstrate good hand-eye coordination
- Willingness to obtain forklift certification
