About the Job

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Apprentice to join our team at Emcor Inc. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will assist experienced electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, and bend wires and conduit using hand tools.
  • Drill holes for wiring using power drills and pull or push wiring through openings.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches using hand tools.
  • Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order.
  • Disassemble defective electrical equipment, such as motors, using hand tools.
  • Load, transport, unload, and furnish electricians with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Clean work areas and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
  • May erect scaffolding.
  • May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to furnish own transportation to and from job sites in the area.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must not use illegal drugs or excessive alcohol and must consent to a drug and alcohol test as required.
  • Must be able to comply with safety standards.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods.
  • Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, vessels, and other objects and carry tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Must be able to see (naturally or with correction).

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma preferred and on-the-job training recommended.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
