Position Overview

As a key member of the transportation team, you will serve as the primary liaison for fleet quality assurance and vehicle inspection processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the main contact for fleet quality control, including inspection, report generation, and property management tasks related to the oversight of motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Gathering, consolidating, and analyzing data regarding vehicle usage, income, mileage, maintenance schedules, incidents, billing, and more.
  • Supporting the Working Capital Fund (WCF) Manager by providing administrative, financial, and programmatic assistance related to the management of the Regional Working Capital for vehicles.
  • Maintaining accurate motor vehicle records within the Moveable Property System (MPS) and Financial Business Management System (FBMS).
  • Preparing essential documentation, such as Property Vouchers and Reports of Survey, for the office and ensuring proper correlation of documents from all field offices.

Employment Conditions

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • Must be deemed suitable for federal employment following a background investigation.

  • Eligibility documents for veterans' consideration must be provided.
  • Candidates must meet any minimum educational and/or experience requirements.
  • A valid State Driver's License must be maintained at all times, as the role involves operating government vehicles.
  • A successful pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician is required, with costs reimbursed by the agency.
  • Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a forklift operator license.
  • Ability to operate various vehicles, including passenger vehicles, pickup trucks, and delivery trucks, is essential.

Qualifications

To be considered qualified for this role, candidates must demonstrate specialized experience that aligns with the GS-07 level, which includes:

  • Experience in managing Government Fleet cards, including their issuance, receipt, and tracking of fuel costs and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to forecast expenditures based on tracking fuel costs and maintenance records.

Education

This position does not permit the substitution of education for experience. Only degrees from accredited institutions recognized by the Department of Education will be accepted.

Foreign Education

For education obtained outside the United States, proof of equivalency to U.S. education standards must be provided.
