Job Overview

Rutgers University, a prestigious institution in New Jersey, is seeking a highly skilled Research Nurse Clinician to join its team. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with oncology experience and a passion for clinical trials management.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful conduct of clinical trials at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. You will collaborate with investigators, protocol activation teams, and research staff to prepare and implement new protocols, screen participants, and provide clinical management to those on study. Your exceptional communication skills and attention to detail will enable you to serve as a valuable resource to faculty and staff on available protocols and research topics, such as FDA, IRB, and GCP regulations.

Key Responsibilities

* Initiate and activate new clinical trial protocols using Oncore Study-start up task list, including preparation and review of study tools and verification of scientific reviews and approvals.
* Collaborate with the clinical research team to ensure timely prescreening of potential subjects and active cancer patients for all available clinical trials.
* Review patient charts and medical history to confirm protocol eligibility and obtain source documents as needed.
* Serve as a liaison between patients and the research team, actively identifying and addressing challenges with protocol completion and adherence to timelines.
* Foster collaboration with integrated academic medical system staff to ensure timely services coordination and delivery to patients.

Requirements

* A graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing with a license to practice in New Jersey.
* At least one year of oncology experience, with preference for three to five years in research settings.
* Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $102,562.56 - $153,822.96, depending on experience. As a Rutgers University employee, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Additionally, you may be eligible for flexible work arrangements under Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or applicable collective negotiations agreements.
