Enrollment Information Clerk Senior

The Enrollment Information Clerk Senior serves as the primary receptionist for the Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid, routing calls and walk-in traffic to the appropriate person or department. This role advises students and parents within the parameters of a paraprofessional.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all incoming office contacts via telephone and walk-in, referring to appropriate offices and counselors as needed. Perform varied secretarial and clerical functions requiring knowledge of office routines, department activities, and the procedures relating to the operation of the office.
- Provide information and advice to students and parents regarding financial aid procedures. Reference student application materials, respond to specific inquiries of individual situations, and assist in understanding financial award notices and University invoices.
- Open, sort, and route mail, handle routine requests independently, and prepare outgoing mail.
- Maintain confidential records, files, and materials. Assume responsibility for maintaining records using spreadsheet or database software. Monitor office traffic volume through spreadsheets and charts.
- Prepare and type reports, forms, and materials. Assist with publications, write and edit external communications, and monitor communications, including the office website, for accuracy and consistency.
- Work with staff to maintain office supplies inventories and order as needed.
- Provide training and supervision to staff designated to perform similar duties, such as nonexempt staff providing back-up for position, as well as work-study students and temporary personnel.
- High School diploma, secretarial training, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired. At least one year experience in an administrative support position.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills, especially with word processing and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated customer focus.
- Ability to effectively perform duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain an environment of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Prior experience as a receptionist, especially in a higher education setting.
- Experience with multiple software programs.
The target hiring range for this position will be between $19.30-$21.30 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
