Position Overview:

The individual in this position will synchronize current carbon initiatives with buyers and landowner agreements that emphasize sustainability and additionality practices. By fostering new opportunities, this role aims to deliver significant value to our clients through the establishment of dependable carbon access programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts research and analysis to identify and support new program opportunities, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Partners in the development of product and program strategies, ensuring alignment with overarching goals.
  • Creates comprehensive solutions based on client feedback to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Champions initiatives from conception through to deployment, overseeing all phases of development.
  • Collaborates with leadership to devise and implement sales strategies aimed at generating new business.
  • Identifies potential new clients while enhancing growth opportunities with existing clientele.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, forestry, sustainable markets, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the agribusiness or farming sector, or a closely related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Carbon Markets or Sustainable Forest Plans is preferred.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations pertinent to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • In-depth knowledge of carbon offset mechanisms and registries.
  • Advanced understanding of program offerings from partner networks such as the Farm Service Agency and USDA.
  • Strong grasp of carbon registries and competitive landscape within the industry.
  • Proficient in business development and relationship management.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to convey accounting principles and cash flow management effectively.
  • Capacity to informally motivate team members.
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
