Job Summary

We are seeking a Field Applications Specialist to work out of our US Headquarters in Irvine, CA. This role reports to the Applications Manager, Global and is responsible for robotic automation in a fast-paced, highly automated biotech environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and train BioDot equipment.
  • Validate, adapt, and customize new robotic equipment to support lab process automation.
  • Develop, validate, and implement new applications for current and new robotic lab equipment.
  • Analyze and improve current automation in the lab by applying state-of-the-art technology.
  • Document design and implementation processes and collect experimental data for validation (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Research best liquid handling equipment for applications and stay updated on all systems.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of BioDot/ATS.
  • Coordinate and resolve customer requests for troubleshooting and recovery of instrumentation errors.
  • Liquid handling QC and validation operations and data analysis of customer systems.
  • Develop, validate, and implement new applications for current and new robotic lab equipment.
  • Liaise directly with Sales to discuss user requirements and feasibility scope.
  • Prepare technical reports for in-house studies and present to stakeholders.
  • Able to travel 50-75%.
  • Work in-house on assigned tasks when not traveling.
  • Produce in-house best practice protocols for platforms and application notes for BioDot state-of-the-art technology.
