Position Overview
- Engage in various physically demanding tasks associated with highway construction projects, including preparing equipment and vehicles for operational use.
- Facilitate deliveries as required.
- Organize and stage necessary equipment along with product and backup supplies.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all equipment as recommended.
- Ensure job site cleanliness by collecting tools and equipment and securing the site daily to mitigate potential hazards.
- Handle and store materials efficiently.
- Assist in the daily upkeep of all vehicles, ensuring they are fueled, fluids are checked and topped off, and tire pressure is appropriate.
- Load and unload trucks, transporting materials as needed.
- Deliver materials to various job sites.
- Adhere to safety protocols and incident reporting procedures, promptly addressing any issues with the Supervisor/Foreman, Safety Director, or Branch Manager.
- Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently is required.
- Capability to stand or walk for extended periods is essential.
- Basic knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy/highway construction is beneficial.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with towing trailers using pickup trucks is advantageous.
- Familiarity with first aid and relevant safety measures is a plus.
- Strong ability to follow instructions and maintain organization.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
- Basic computer skills for creating road signs as needed.
The salary range for this role is competitive, reflecting internal equity and varying based on geographic location, relevant experience, and skills.
