Position Overview
  • Engage in various physically demanding tasks associated with highway construction projects, including preparing equipment and vehicles for operational use.
  • Facilitate deliveries as required.
  • Organize and stage necessary equipment along with product and backup supplies.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on all equipment as recommended.
  • Ensure job site cleanliness by collecting tools and equipment and securing the site daily to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Handle and store materials efficiently.
  • Assist in the daily upkeep of all vehicles, ensuring they are fueled, fluids are checked and topped off, and tire pressure is appropriate.
  • Load and unload trucks, transporting materials as needed.
  • Deliver materials to various job sites.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and incident reporting procedures, promptly addressing any issues with the Supervisor/Foreman, Safety Director, or Branch Manager.
Qualifications
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently is required.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy/highway construction is beneficial.
  • Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with towing trailers using pickup trucks is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with first aid and relevant safety measures is a plus.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions and maintain organization.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Basic computer skills for creating road signs as needed.
