Autopsy Tech Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Autopsy Tech to join our team at the University of New Mexico. As a key member of our Office of the Medical Investigator, you will play a critical role in assisting pathologists with the collection of evidence and examinations of decedents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pathologists with autopsy procedures and examinations
  • Collect and handle evidence with precision and care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of examinations and findings
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless workflow and efficient operations
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in a related field preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related field, such as forensic science or pathology
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
