Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Centralized Property Adjuster to join our team in the Columbus Region. As a Centralized Property Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling low to medium complexity claims, with some exposure to medium complexity claims, as defined by our CARE department processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under close supervision, you will investigate the facts of loss, evaluate coverages, liability, damages, and negotiate claims to a proper conclusion.
  • You will determine policy status and coverage, review policies and endorsements for coverage, limits, and deductibles, and notify your manager of any claim that may be outside of your assigned scope of handling.
  • You will make prompt contact with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and other parties involved in the loss to set expectations, develop an action plan, and perform an initial exposure assessment.
  • You will conduct an investigation to determine coverage, liability, and damages, including recorded statements and coordination of field inspections or experts when necessary.
  • You will ensure regular and timely follow-up and bring claims to a prompt and appropriate conclusion while keeping the customer informed throughout the life cycle of the claim process.
  • You will maintain electronic records that accurately and thoroughly document all file handling activity.
  • You may be required to perform additional duties as directed.
Requirements
  • Entry-level to three years of professional experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services industries.
  • Post-secondary education preferred.
  • Current adjuster licensure or the ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft and Google applications preferred.
