We are seeking a Staff Accountant to assist our Accounting team in the preparation and management of financial documentation that tracks the company’s assets, liabilities, income, expenses, tax obligations, and other financial activities. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility with two days of remote work and three days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end closing, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis across multiple entities.
  • Ensure timely completion of various closing checklists and deliverables.
  • Oversee inventory management and control.
  • Guide and mentor Accounts Payable staff, reviewing their work for accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement improvements.
  • Participate in the integration of newly acquired businesses.
  • Assist in financial statement audits.
  • Document and maintain accounting procedures.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the monthly Board Report and other financial reports as required.
  • Engage in special projects and transactions as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, V-lookups, and conditional formatting.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in a moderately complex business setting.
  • A proactive approach and adaptability to changing environments.
  • A minimum of three days in-office presence.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification is advantageous.
  • Fundamental understanding of GAAP principles.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with union contracts is a plus.
  • A resourceful and solution-oriented mindset, capable of managing tasks independently.
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic, demonstrating ownership of responsibilities.
  • A collaborative spirit, open to feedback for personal and professional growth.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, able to deliver high-quality work while juggling multiple projects.
  • Comfort with technology and eagerness to learn new systems.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience, along with a discretionary year-end bonus. Benefits include paid vacation and personal days, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and AD&D insurance, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
