Key Responsibilities:
The CNC Machining Process Innovator plays a crucial role within the Operations Team, focusing on the production of components that adhere to all customer specifications while optimizing costs. This position involves developing programs for manufacturing machined parts using computer numerical control (CNC) mills, swiss/multiswiss lathes, routers, abrasive cutoff machines, bandsaws, tool presetters, assembly stations, and lasers. Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC machinery while upholding quality and safety standards. Additionally, this role encompasses the production of precision machining and assembly equipment.
- Expertise in operating and maintaining CNC machinery and associated equipment.
- Proactively manages machine operations to ensure continuous production during shifts.
- Skilled in setting up and maintaining tooling for milling and lathe machines, including making tool offsets and replacing worn inserts.
- Experience with tool presetters for effective tooling setup.
- Designs and enforces safe operational practices by adhering to established safety protocols.
- Proficient in using essential measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and produce components to specified requirements.
- Capable of troubleshooting and resolving machine issues indicated by alarm codes due to tool breaks or malfunctions.
- Conducts necessary maintenance on machinery and completes associated documentation.
- Maintains a tidy and organized workspace.
- Responsible for cleaning machined components.
- Preferred experience in operating and setting up CNC mills, swiss/multiswiss lathes, routers, abrasive cutoff machines, bandsaws, tool presetters, assembly stations, and lasers.
- Familiarity with milling and turning tooling, including knowledge of metal cutting parameters.
- Understanding of conventional machining, machine controls, program codes, fixtures, tool offsets, and CNC systems.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
- Experience in establishing efficient production machining lines and reducing operational costs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Solidworks.
- Experience with MasterCAM or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
- Background in programming CNC Milling and Swiss CNC Machines.
- Multi-axis machining experience is advantageous.
- Ability to diagnose machine failures and perform necessary repairs.
- Experience in setting up and operating wet abrasive cutoff machines or bandsaws.
- Experience in operating and maintaining assembly stations.
- Previous involvement in assisting with quotations and cycle time simulations is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in designing complete machining processes from raw materials to finished products.
