Job Overview:
Geisinger Laboratory Medicine is in search of a board-eligible or board-certified cytopathologist. Additional specialization in head and neck or pulmonary pathology is preferred.

AT A GLANCE:
  • Comprehensive pathology services integrated within Geisinger practice utilizing a sub-specialty model.
  • Academic appointment available at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine with opportunities for research.
  • Access to an extensive array of immunohistochemical stains and advanced ancillary testing, including organ-specific NGS testing conducted in-house.
  • Teaching responsibilities encompass medical students, pathology residency, and a well-established cytopathology fellowship program.
  • Annual case volumes: approximately 98,000 surgical pathology cases, 45,000 cytopathology cases, including 15,000 NonGYN and 30,000 GYN Pap tests.
  • Collaborative environment with 44 pathologists and PhDs on staff, including 9 cytopathologists and 9 cytotechnologists.
  • Dedicated Fine Needle Aspiration Services available at three hospital sites, with support for rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) utilizing telecytology.
  • Implementation of cytology quality management with fully automated real-time dashboards.

Geisinger Community Medical Center (G-CMG) is an acute care facility with a capacity of 297 beds, featuring the only Level I Trauma Center in the region and Scranton's exclusive neurosurgery program. It also offers comprehensive cardiovascular and orthopedic services, along with a wide range of surgical and radiological services.
