Salary: $75,000 - $80,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize transportation routes to enhance efficiency and reduce delivery times.
  • Allocate drivers and vehicles to specific routes based on delivery timelines, customer locations, and vehicle capacity.
  • Oversee driver dispatching and track their progress to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to schedules.
  • Manage a fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, serviced, and inspected regularly.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Monitor fuel usage, vehicle mileage, and other operational metrics to enhance fleet performance.
  • Supervise transportation personnel, including drivers and dispatchers, providing necessary guidance and support.
  • Conduct training sessions for drivers on safe driving practices and customer service standards.
  • Evaluate driver performance and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Perform regular safety inspections of vehicles and equipment, addressing any identified hazards.
  • Investigate incidents and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors to address transportation-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction by delivering reliable and professional transportation services.
  • Address customer complaints promptly and effectively, demonstrating a commitment to service excellence.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery rates and driver productivity.
  • Generate reports to analyze transportation operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize operational data to enhance processes and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating a diverse team.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and routing software.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation management, business administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in transportation operations with a successful supervisory background.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
