Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Media Solutions Engineer to join our Vision Products Group (VPG). This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in the engineering of cutting-edge products that integrate video, audio, and graphics.

In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting asset databases, developing tools, integrating internal software, and automating the delivery of immersive media content to our platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with encoding development teams, media production stakeholders, and distribution partners.
  • Design and automate workflows for the distribution of VisionPro immersive content.
  • Create topology diagrams and publish workflow specifications.
  • Test server build profiles and monitor the health of media processing services.
  • Support content delivery service level agreements.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in media processing or pipeline automation.
  • Knowledge of modern rendering techniques and post-production workflows.
  • Familiarity with video codecs such as MPEGs AVC, HEVC, VCC, or AV1.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, particularly in Java.
  • Experience in building client and server APIs using JSON and REST.
  • Solid understanding of authentication and authorization fundamentals.
  • Experience managing applications on AWS/GCP and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure templating tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Practical understanding of networking concepts in cloud environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software failures.
  • Familiarity with logging infrastructure and tools such as Splunk or Elasticsearch.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

At Apple, we offer a competitive compensation package that includes a base pay range of $161,700 to $243,300, determined by your skills and experience. Additionally, employees may participate in stock programs and receive comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and educational reimbursement.
