Nurse Residency Program Specialist

The Nurse Residency Program at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest offers a comprehensive training experience for new graduate nurses to transition into practice. This 12-month program provides hands-on experience, clinical and critical thinking skills, and a supportive community of nurse educators and experienced nurses.
As a RN Resident, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on patient-centered care. You will be responsible for assessing patient condition, performing procedures, and documenting patient medical records. Additionally, you will participate in evidence-based practice projects and receive mentoring from experienced nurse leaders.
About the Role- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting administration of care in the patient medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitoring patients for therapeutic response and notifying providers of any adverse reactions.
- Provide exceptional patient care by responding promptly to requests, anticipating needs, and resolving them proactively.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
