The Bistro Cook plays a vital role in delivering warm, attentive, and responsive service to guests. Your mission is to craft dishes that provide an outstanding dining experience, encouraging guests to return and share their delightful moments. Key responsibilities include kitchen setup and station preparation before and after service, maintaining cleanliness in the service area and kitchen, and engaging with guests regularly.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests in line with company standards.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine gratitude to guests.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food items.
- Cook high-quality meals within budget for the Bistro and catered events.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management as directed by management.
- Set up, stock, and maintain work areas to ensure efficiency.
- Handle objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
- Check expiration dates on food items to guarantee freshness.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information to safeguard company assets.
- Perform any other reasonable job duties as requested.
Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Food Handler's Card or the ability to obtain one.
- Legal age to serve alcohol (18 years) and/or prepare alcoholic beverages (21 years).
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Ability to prepare and cook food according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment.
- Capability to meet dietary needs and special requests.
- Strong command of the English language for effective communication.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes.
- Understanding of alcohol laws and dining room service procedures.
- Experience in a hotel establishment is highly desirable.
