The House Supervisor RN plays a pivotal role in overseeing patient care across various clinical departments during assigned shifts. This position is essential in advocating for optimal resource allocation to ensure efficient, safe, and compassionate care in alignment with established standards.


As clinical mentors, House Supervisors provide critical support and guidance in the absence of department leadership. They foster a culture of shared decision-making and professional autonomy, ensuring that both staff and management are well-informed about organizational developments. House Supervisors exemplify best practices in clinical care and are responsible for nurturing an environment that prioritizes improved patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support human resource objectives by assisting in the selection, orientation, education, assignment, scheduling, coaching, and counseling of nursing staff; communicate job expectations and ensure adherence to policies.
  • Collaborate with nursing managers and directors to maintain high standards of nursing care, ensuring compliance with state regulations and evaluating health outcomes against established benchmarks.
  • Contribute to operational standards by providing insights for strategic planning and reviews; implement quality, productivity, and customer service standards while identifying areas for improvement.
  • Engage with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of quality care, addressing complaints and concerns as they arise.
  • Respond to emergencies and unusual events, providing guidance and assistance as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to foster an environment of interactive leadership and collegial relationships.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, adaptability, and clinical competence, making informed decisions swiftly while leading staff through challenging situations.
  • Maintain composure in high-pressure scenarios, taking ownership of new tasks and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience in a clinical setting.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, along with lifting and carrying equipment and supplies.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires onsite presence.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage ranging from $37.80 to $47.21.
