Job Summary

Ladgov Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Native Plant Conservation Specialist to support the Department of Interior component in Falls Church, VA.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires an eight-hour shift during standard operating hours of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication Research and Planning: Provide research and planning for cross-programmatic native plant conservation and restoration priorities.
  • Botanical Activities Communication: Communicate botanical activities within and across Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) programs to contribute to an improved understanding of FWS native plant activities and priorities.
  • Presentation Creation: Create presentations, infographics, and related promotional materials, and provide lectures in support of conservation and management needs for native plant species, which may include sustainable use and conservation of U.S. native economic plants.
  • Meetings Planning and Coordination: Assist communications within and across agencies on current and historical botanical activities undertaken by the Plant Conservation Alliance (PCA), including meetings planning, listserv postings, and other duties to support the Chair of the PCA Federal Committee.
  • Interagency Communications: Update, maintain, and support FWS and interagency communications via share sites, collaborator webpages, and social media platforms.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in ecology, botany, biology, or environmental sciences.
  • Experience: Data and web management, teaching, and project management experience, and good organizational skills.
  • Tech Skills: Experience using multiple online networking tools, including shared websites, discussion lists, and audio/video meeting platforms.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical issues related to botany and conservation with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
