We are in search of skilled and motivated Mold Process Technicians to enhance our team. Our ideal candidates are those who are dedicated to achieving their objectives and are committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of their work. This role involves supporting intricate program launches and assessing existing programs and machinery to optimize production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve minimal mold change/set-up time.
  • Conduct mold changes, ensuring proper watering and clamping of molds, along with basic machine operations and set-up, including barrel heats, pressures, timers, clamp settings, and all clamp functions.
  • Accurately interpret mold schedules and identify molds.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines, including constructing appropriate chutes to manage ejected parts, cleaning purge and excess materials, and removing any debris from under machines.
  • Prioritize safety by ensuring all safety features, such as drop bars and switches, are operational.
  • Maximize uptime across all machine centers with the goal of minimizing and eliminating downtime.

In addition to mold setting, candidates should possess the ability or willingness to learn:

  • Start-up and troubleshoot the injection molding process.
  • Document all process parameters on Master Setup Sheets.
  • Ensure process parameters and mold protection settings align with specifications.
  • Make necessary adjustments to avert part defects.
  • Address all Quality and Operator concerns regarding parts and processes.
  • Enhance and maintain manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Drive scrap reduction through corrective actions and mold maintenance documentation.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; further education is a plus.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in mold setting and/or troubleshooting injection molding preferred.
  • Experience in thermoplastic injection molding is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with set-up procedures for injection molding machines.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and respect.
  • Problem-solving skills and a working knowledge of machinery, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Commitment to staying updated with technological advancements through continuous education.
  • Demonstrated reliability with an excellent attendance record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of lifting, moving, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, sit, and walk for up to 8 hours to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for 50% to 100% of the time.
  • Vision capabilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Able to ascend/descend forklifts and standing lifts, trailers, steps, ladders, etc.
  • Must be able to turn head to look in the direction of travel and look up, and wear a seat belt during forklift operation as per OSHA regulations.
  • No aversion to heights.
