Job Summary

The Access Coordinator will oversee the intake process, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for clients. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on screening and placing clients in the most suitable programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the referral and intake process, maintaining accurate admission data
  • Assist with daily census and population data, scheduling admissions, and generating reports
  • Conduct reminder calls prior to admissions and maintain communication with referral sources
  • Document demographic information of clients in Welligent and maintain accurate records
  • Demonstrate empathy and respect for clients in all interactions, maintaining objectivity and making decisions based on accurate information
  • Answer phones and transfer calls to treatment providers as needed, maintaining a professional image
  • Consult with the Program Clinical Team and/or Nursing to review potential referrals
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring client confidentiality and adhering to federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, the Access Coordinator must possess the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the philosophy, programming, and administration of a substance abuse treatment program
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations on confidentiality, contract management, and program administration
  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities
  • Ability to work and communicate with other team members, demonstrating effective and professional communication
  • Proficiency in Welligent and Microsoft Office
  • Skill in performing and/or managing tasks and/or people to ensure program and policy administration
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with clients
Education/Experience

The Access Coordinator must possess a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications

Certification/licensure as required by funding/regulatory sources.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
Work Environment

The work environment is that of a substance abuse treatment milieu, which may include:

  • Exposure to clients infected with Hepatitis B, HIV, TB, or other infectious diseases
  • Business-related travel may be required
Scheduling Needs

Evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts may be required.
