Position Overview:
The Venice Family Clinic is a prominent organization dedicated to delivering comprehensive and high-quality primary health care to underserved populations with compassion and respect.
Following a merger with South Bay Family Health Care, our organization has expanded its reach, now employing over 500 professionals who cater to approximately 45,000 individuals across various regions.
We operate 17 facilities, along with two mobile clinics and a robust street medicine initiative aimed at assisting those experiencing homelessness.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a physician at Venice Family Clinic, you will play a vital role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients, while also making necessary referrals to specialists. You will be a key member of the clinic team, providing leadership and expertise in medical and patient care matters.
Your responsibilities will also include mentoring and supporting volunteer medical providers, ensuring they are well-acquainted with clinic procedures and facilitating continuity of care for patients.
Collaboration with various departments, including nursing, pharmacy, and mental health, is essential to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Work Schedule:
This position requires flexibility in working hours, including some evening shifts as part of the weekly schedule.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is between $250,000.00 and $280,000.00 annually.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:
- Active California Medical License
- Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Med/Peds, Pediatrics, or Internal Medicine
- Understanding of medical issues affecting minority and underserved populations, including the homeless
- Experience in providing general medical care in a high-volume clinic environment
- Ability to manage chronic conditions, particularly diabetes and obesity
- Capability to teach and supervise medical residents and students
- Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and volunteer physicians
- Willingness to effectively utilize Electronic Health Records to meet operational requirements
- Ability to meet productivity targets as set by the Chief Medical Officer
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred, enabling effective communication without the need for an interpreter during examinations.
