Job Summary:

The Wearables Multimedia Systems Software team is a key part of the Wearables organization at Meta. Our mission is to build the foundational Multimedia (Camera, CV, Audio, Graphics, Display) Systems SW/FW stacks, unlocking the full potential of our hardware in these deep technology domains. This enables exceptional AR & AI based user experiences across all Wearable products.

This team has successfully shipped the breakthrough success RayBan Meta AI glasses and is working on an exciting and growing Wearables products roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow teams of domain experts across Graphics, Display, Camera/CV technologies.
  • Manage diverse teams of technology experts, helping them develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional hardware and software engineering teams.
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.
  • Operate strategically and tactically, developing the vision and strategy to help set direction for the team, while staying on top of the day-to-day software development.
  • Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and on-boarding new employees.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing a software team in a fast-paced capacity.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in managing other managers.
  • Proven understanding and experience executing full product life-cycles (prototyping, deployment, and support).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with low level GPU/Display kernel/FW development and optimization.
  • Experience in hardware-software development environments such as simulators, FPGA emulators etc.
  • Experience with one or more in OpenGL, Vulkan, Unity, Unreal.
  • Experience with developing for open source standards.
  • Experience with SLAM/VIO, Eye Tracking, Hand Tracking technologies.

Compensation:

$213,000/year to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
