Software Performance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Software Performance Engineer to join our team at Team Red Dog. This role involves working on cloud-based solutions for SQL performance optimization.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about software performance engineering and eager to work on innovative database technologies.
As a Software Performance Engineer, you will work with a dynamic team to ensure top-tier SQL performance on Azure platforms. You will have the chance to enhance your expertise in databases, coding logic, and performance benchmarking, contributing to cutting-edge technology advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute performance tools and scripts.
- Collect and report performance data to the team and other stakeholders.
- Analyze automated performance tool results and communicate findings.
- Perform low-level testing and benchmarking for systems.
- Work under senior performance engineers to ensure system performance.
- Collaborate with engineers to maintain the systems and ensure smooth operation.
- Implement automation solutions in PowerShell.
- Assist in evaluating SQL server tuning and other optimization methods.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Master's preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in software engineering or database management.
- Strong understanding of SQL, databases, and server interactions.
- Familiarity with physical computer technologies, cloud platforms, and automation.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or coding language (C#, Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.).
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical findings clearly.
- Knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to ask the right questions to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
