Job Title: Instructional Aide II

At Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aide II to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and behavioral growth of our students with disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students, working closely with core classroom staff to ensure seamless support.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum, including on-site and community-based instruction.
  • Consult with supervisors to discuss student progress and develop strategies for meeting IEP goals.
  • Document student behavior and maintain accurate records, ensuring confidentiality and adhering to school procedures.
  • Participate in data collection and analysis, providing input for the development of functional analyses and behavior intervention plans.
  • Perform job coaching duties, assisting students in developing employment skills and work behavior.
  • Provide basic physical care for students as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment, anticipating and responding to potential safety risks.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, reporting any known or suspected violations to supervisors.
  • Participate in crisis intervention, utilizing de-escalation techniques and prioritizing student safety.
  • Meet school and regulatory training requirements, attending mandatory meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist with daily classroom functions, including cleaning, filing, and preparing materials.
  • Act as a substitute teacher and provide classroom coverage when needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field.
  • Hold an Emergency 30-Day Sub Permit or have the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or in special education is preferred.
  • Ability to think and act quickly in emergency situations, making independent decisions.
  • Solid motivational skills and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office.
