Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aide II to join our team at Spectrum Center Schools and Programs. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will provide individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students, supporting their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement curriculum and behavioral intervention strategies consistent with the IEP/ITP/PBIP to meet each student's goals and objectives.
  • Consult with supervisor on student progress and assist in transition plans for integrating students back to a public school placement or to an adult program.
  • Follow the classroom schedule, addressing each student's IEP/ITP goals, including community and vocational goals, group instruction, and designated instructional services.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation on student behavior and maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
  • Participate in data collection and provide input for the development of Functional Analyses of Behavior and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Perform job coaching duties, assisting students in training on campus or at community job sites in appropriate work behavior and specific employment skills.
  • Provide for the basic physical needs of students as needed and maintain safety and security of the facility.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and report any known or suspected violations to the supervisor.
  • Provide crisis intervention as necessary and meet school and regulatory training requirements.
  • Assure cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and participate as a team member, promoting a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field.
  • Hold an Emergency 30 Day Sub Permit or have the ability to obtain one within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Valid CA Drivers License.
  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience working with children in an education setting.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or in a special education setting is preferred.
