MHC Healthcare operates as a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) with multiple locations, dedicated to enhancing community health through comprehensive healthcare services.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • A minimum of 8 years in financial management
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience
  • 5 years of experience in preparing, analyzing, and approving financial statements
  • Possession of a Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Federally Qualified Community Health Center operations (or similar)
  • Participation in a senior leadership team
Consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education and experience that are directly relevant to the required functions and knowledge base for this role.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position entails managing and overseeing the performance of a division or department through direct reports and their teams, which includes evaluating work objectives and effectiveness, establishing broad organizational goals, and allocating work and staffing assignments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Formulates and implements financial strategies that align with the organization's objectives, ensuring sustainable financial health.
  • Establishes, monitors, and enforces internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
  • Develops and enforces policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and mitigates financial risks, including market fluctuations and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversees capital allocation, investment decisions, and capital structure to support growth initiatives.
  • Ensures the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Defines and recommends organizational objectives.
  • Creates specific short-term and long-term plans, along with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.
  • Responsible for the recurring preparation of financial statements, forecasts, and annual audits.
  • Provides monthly updates on financial conditions by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Reviews and approves plans for controlling outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency, and customer service.
  • Manages cash flow, working capital, and liquidity for daily operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Analyzes variances and initiates plans to meet budget objectives.
  • Evaluates potential acquisitions, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
  • Develops tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing finance team, promoting collaboration and professional growth.
  • Ensures compliance with legal requirements by monitoring existing and new legislation.
  • Reviews and submits necessary cost reports.
  • Utilizes financial data to enhance management decision-making.
  • Conducts negotiations with managed care organizations.
