The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in collaborating with nursing staff to deliver outstanding direct patient care. This position involves supporting patients with their daily living activities (ADLs) and preventing complications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely collection of vital signs as scheduled. Report any abnormal findings or changes in the patient's physical, mental, or emotional state to the Registered Nurse (RN). This includes changes in vital signs, ADLs, patient mobility, and daily weights.
  • Assist patients with all aspects of personal hygiene and care, including bowel and bladder management. Monitor and document fluid intake and output as well as patient weights.
  • Facilitate patient ambulation and repositioning as per schedule or as needed to prevent complications related to immobility.
  • Reinforce patient education, such as the use of incentive spirometers and fall prevention strategies.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized bedside area to ensure a safe and healing environment.
  • Exhibit flexibility in assisting both patients and team members as required.
  • Conduct intentional rounding on each patient every hour to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled and patient needs are addressed.
  • Willingness to take on additional relevant responsibilities as necessary.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of being honest, calm, reliable, compassionate, and caring towards customers and colleagues.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
  • Prior experience in patient care is advantageous.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers (e.g., operating a computer keyboard).
  • May involve lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, and IV solutions, as well as stooping and kneeling (e.g., to retrieve items from the floor or lower shelves).
  • Extended periods of sitting, walking, or standing may be required.
  • Must possess the physical capability to operate the equipment necessary for the role.

Work Environment and Schedule:

  • Onsite at the main campus.
  • Full Time - Day and Evening shifts.
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week with assigned weekends and holidays.

Compensation Information:

  • Standard Rate of $18.53 per hour plus benefits.

OR

  • Enhanced Rate of $20.93 per hour without benefits.
