Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician Fulfillment Center Specialist to join our team at Walgreens. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of prescriptions and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the training of team members under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy within the Micro fulfillment Center.
  • Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Assist with and coach pharmacy technicians and Fulfillment Specialists in the operation of pharmacy systems.
  • Ensure Micro fulfillment Centers interactions with the pharmacies served receive the patients prescriptions in a timely manner.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Group Supervisor Pharmacist, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Report immediately prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Lead inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, sorting, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, merchandise received but not billed, shortages, merchandise billed but not received, order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
  • Assist and support Group Supervisor Pharmacist and site Pharmacists in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance data, reviewing Rx KPIs with Group Supervisor Pharmacist.
  • Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Micro Fulfillment Center is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
  • Coach pharmacy technicians and Fulfillment Specialists in the correct use of processes and tools in order to drive efficiency within the Micro Fulfillment Center.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Maintain PTCB or ExCPT certification through the designated PTCB or ExCPT training program and or state required certification registration.
  • Attend training and complete learning modules requested by manager and acquire continuing education credits.
  • Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
Requirements
  • State board of pharmacy licensure active and in good standing.
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail fulfillment or hospital setting.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer basic level PC skills, such as starting up and shutting down computer, using mouse to point and click, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, and accessing information online.
  • Prefer knowledge of inventory control.
