Job Title: Building Code Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Code Manager to join our team at LaBella Associates. This is a unique opportunity to lead our Building Code and Life Safety Services group and contribute to the success of our clients.

Job Summary

The Building Code Manager will be responsible for managing a team of professionals who provide building code compliance and life safety services to public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in building design, construction, and the building codes and standards that govern it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals providing building code compliance and life safety services.
  • Develop and implement business plans to grow the business and execute the work.
  • Identify target markets and services.
  • Lead business development and client management efforts for the group.
  • Manage significant projects personally, and manage and oversee project managers and technical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC process and perform QC personally as needed.
  • Responsible for the group's overall P&L and project financial performance.
  • Work with managers, project managers, and technical staff throughout the company as necessary to support multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Cross-sell the company's services.
  • Participate in company strategic planning process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or science field.
  • 10+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, or municipal code enforcement.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with the International Building Code (IBC) and New York State Uniform Code.
  • NYS/IBC Code Certifications and/or comparable credentials are preferred.
  • A professional engineer's license or architectural accreditation are highly preferred.
