Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in hospitality or a related sector.

Must possess an Alcohol Awareness Certification in accordance with state regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Extended hours may be necessary.

Medium work - the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Capability to stand for the duration of the shift.

Mental Requirements:

Ability to assess and choose among various courses of action swiftly and accurately.

Proficiency in addressing workplace challenges, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as needed.

Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns raised by colleagues and guests.

Basic arithmetic skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

Engage with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-focused manner.

Maintain consistent attendance in line with hospitality standards, with scheduling subject to business demands.

Uphold high standards of personal grooming and appearance as per brand guidelines.

Adhere to hotel regulations and standards to promote safe and efficient operations.

Comply with certification requirements relevant to the position, including Alcohol Awareness and Food Handling.

Execute opening and closing duties according to hotel protocols to ensure prompt and efficient service.

Prepare beverages and cocktails in accordance with company mixing, portion control, and presentation standards.

Serve guests with all food and beverage needs in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.

Familiarity with the operation of the Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system is required.

Assist in maintaining beverage costs.

Verify each guest's identification prior to serving alcoholic beverages.

Greet and acknowledge guests promptly.

Ensure the bar area is kept clean and organized, clearing tables promptly after guests depart.

Follow proper check ringing procedures, ensuring each transaction is recorded immediately after the order is placed.

Perform cashiering duties, closing checks, and providing receipts to guests.

Adhere to all state liquor laws, ensuring intoxicated patrons are not served.

Maintain consistent pour sizes.

Sanitize the dining area as needed, every 20 minutes.

Wash or sanitize hands every 20-30 minutes in high-contact areas.

Follow all COVID-19 protocols as established by the hotel.

Secondary Duties:

Provide assistance and knowledge in response to guest inquiries.

Promote beer, liquor, and wine sales whenever possible.

Maintain a warm and welcoming demeanor at all times.

Be knowledgeable about the functions of each department.

Attend meetings as required by management.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
