Milliman SkySail Application Architect

We are seeking an experienced Application Architect to join our team at Milliman SkySail. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of software applications that meet business requirements and are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and sustainable application architectures that align with business requirements and the broader enterprise architecture.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, stakeholders, Engineers, and Senior Architects to translate business needs into technical specifications that work within the broader enterprise architecture.
  • Leverage proven design principles such as clean code, refactoring, and test-driven development to ensure the creation of high-quality, robust software solutions.
  • Optimize application performance, ensuring responsiveness and reliability to meet the needs of front-end and data teams.
  • Ensure that application designs and implementations are consistent with the enterprise architecture, supporting the strategic goals of the organization.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience specifically as an Architect, Lead Engineer, or related role.
  • Familiarity with building web services on AWS.
  • Python Fluency.
  • C# Fluency.
Competencies and Behaviors:
  • Experience building data visualization applications.
  • Experience building web architectures.
  • Experience using AWS.
  • Proven ability to work on both greenfield and legacy code projects.
  • Proven ability to improve code quality across their team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We offer a competitive salary range of $107,000 - $217,000, depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with matching program, and profit sharing contribution, among others.
