Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Developmental Services, Inc. in Washington. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives.
About the Role:
This is a full-time or part-time opportunity to work as a Direct Support Professional. You will be responsible for providing support and assistance to clients with varying needs, promoting their independence, socialization, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide active care and support to designated clients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to promote client independence, communication skills, daily living skills, and socialization.
- Monitor and document client progress, including behavior, medical needs, and any incidents that may arise.
- Assist clients with medication administration, personal care, and mobility needs.
- Drive clients to appointments, work, and other activities, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment during transport.
- Participate in community-based activities, fostering meaningful relationships and experiences for clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPR, First Aid, CPI, and Med Core A & B certifications required.
- Possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance meeting state requirements.
