**Job Summary:** We are seeking a mid-senior mechanical engineer experienced in developing mechanical and controls systems to join our team at Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. in Knoxville, TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating fabrication and assembly drawings, tolerancing, and designing for manufacturability.

**Responsibilities:*

  • Create fabrication and assembly drawings IAW ASME Y14 standards
  • Tolerancing and design for manufacturability
  • Interpreting electrical schematics for troubleshooting and design purposes
  • Developing proposals, test reports, customer presentations, design specifications, etc.
  • Interface with technicians to ensure specifications are attainable and verify compliance
  • Interface with customers in technical working groups
  • Estimate labor hours, track actuals, and coordinate scheduling with other project managers
  • Troubleshooting complex systems from sensor data and log files
  • Creating bills of materials for new designs and tracking materials during fabrication

**Qualifications:*

  • High purity compressed air experience
  • Cryogenic cooling experience
  • High vacuum experience
  • Nuclear detectors experience
  • Industrial controls experience

**Salary:** $85,000 - $110,000 per year (estimated)

**Benefits:** This position offers full benefits, including medical, dental, 401k matching, and paid leave. The work schedule is 9 hours Monday through Thursday with a 4-hour Friday.
