Recreation Program Facilitator

This role is part-time and temporary.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The selected candidates will oversee and support the safety and guidance of participants in recreational activities during morning or afternoon shifts. Responsibilities include organizing and promoting various activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, music, drama, social recreation, camping, and other leisure pursuits. This position reports directly to the Recreation Center Leader.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Maintain a high standard of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with parents, children, and colleagues while executing the day camp program. Ensure constant supervision to safeguard the well-being of the children. Immediately report all injuries, whether major or minor, to the Day Camp Director or Assistant Director. Collaborate effectively with fellow staff members to ensure the smooth functioning of the day camp program. Plan and lead organized activities on a daily basis. Ensure that children are signed in and out by the appropriate parent or guardian before leaving the premises. The parent or guardian must initial the sign-in/out sheet when picking up the child. Clean the snack area and program space after use; properly store supplies and equipment. Organize a special event during the final week of the program. Carry out other related tasks as assigned or necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Willingness to accept temporary employment. Must be at least 18 years old. Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required. Reliable transportation is necessary. Previous experience in a recreational environment working with youth is preferred.
