Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Cedar Commons, a part of Life Care Services;Essex Meadows. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall well-being of our residents.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for organizing, delivering, and directing professional nursing care to residents. This includes collecting data on residents, accurately documenting their condition, and performing clinical testing as necessary. The successful candidate will also be responsible for administering medications, monitoring their effectiveness, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the charge nurse for assigned resident care neighborhood, ensuring continuous clinical leadership at all times.
  • Directs paraprofessional staff regarding resident care and notifies families, physicians, and departments of residents' needs.
  • Collects data on residents and accurately documents their condition.
  • Performs clinical testing such as glucometer and pulse oximetry as necessary.
  • Administers ordered medications as approved and treatments, including monitoring of IV fluid.
  • Maintains CPR certification and initiates CPR in compliance with facility policy.
  • Assists with direct resident care, including bathing, feeding, making beds, toileting, answering call lights, and transporting residents to appointments and activities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Must be comfortable working with COVID-positive patients.
  • Must be fully COVID and flu vaccinated per CDC guidelines and Masonic Village policy.
  • Current LPN licensure by the NJ State Board of Nursing.
  • CPR certification required.
Work Environment:

The work environment is moderate, with occasional exposure to noise and stress. The successful candidate will be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with the appropriate life equipment.
