Role Overview

As a Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE), you will play a crucial role in the development of essential mechanical manufacturing processes across our global supply chain. This position demands a hands-on approach and regular collaboration with various teams, including Industrial Design, Product Design, and Manufacturing Design partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive manufacturing and process solutions for critical design features.
  • Oversee the development and capability of manufacturing processes, including equipment selection, setup, and qualification.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Managers to establish supply chain requirements with chosen equipment and suppliers.
  • Lead initiatives at manufacturing sites during product development and production phases, addressing engineering challenges effectively.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to inform process decisions, including basic data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Identify and qualify top-tier equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Define specifications and tolerances by demonstrating process capabilities to design teams.
  • Specialize in one of the following areas: CNC machining, surface finishing, glass processing, assembly, or painting, driving process improvements and quality assurance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical manufacturing.
  • Proven hands-on mechanical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Experience with high-quality cosmetic parts is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to define engineering tasks independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
