About the Role

This is a highly visible position at Apple, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's products and leave a lasting footprint. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and ramp of a next-generation Apple product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and provide feedback on design and design intent of components and assemblies.
  • Set standard manufacturing practices and independently determine the impact on design and parameters to the final product.
  • Partner with internal and external cross-functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase and set expectations for manufacturing processes.
  • Develop new and/or improved processes for parts and assemblies through the application of theoretical and practical engineering.
  • Drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members.
  • Drive design experiments to prove out manufacturing processes or design iterations.
  • Design for Manufacturability - Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable.
  • Process Engineering - Design and develop technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Present technical issues and updates to Apple management team and cross-functional team on a frequent basis.
  • Provide creative solutions for engineering challenges or issues related to assembly process.
  • International travel to supplier sites, up to 30%.
Requirements
  • Creative problem-solving experience.
  • Experience in process development/bring up and qualification.
  • Program/project management experience.
  • Manufacturing or supplier management experience.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and Engineering Drawing Interpretation.
  • Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods, and theory.
  • Good command of Excel and JMP.
  • Knowledge of Metrology design and Optical/Contact Measurement Equipment is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin or Korean language skills are a plus but not required.
  • Strong Team Player.
Education and Experience

BS (MS preferred) in mechanical, materials, or chemical engineering.
